Beat the Winter Blues at the Cedar Rapids Tournament

unnamedIf you are lucky enough to be in Iowa for January, you have a great opportunity. You can play bridge in a friendly, fun, warm tournament without traveling far at all! The Cedar Rapids Winter Sectional is January 16,17,18 at Govik Hall (next to St. Wenceslaus Church). This tournament is filled with temptations to lure you out of your house. For the first time ever, the tournament is offering a cash prize of $50 to the Under 100 player who wins the most master points. Friday’s games will be regionally rated points with no extra cost. There will be free treats throughout the tournament. The best, most tempting treat of all is fresh-baked (by the church circle) kolaches, warm and ready for Sunday morning.

8 is Enough is a special team game that we haven’t had in Cedar Rapids for a while. It is designed to mix up different levels of players. The details are on the flyer and Dave Boland is busy matching up teams. His number is 319-393-8504. If you need a partner for a different game, Nancy Klein is partnership chair. She can be reached at 319-550-1679.

See the tournament flyer at www.bridgeunit163.com or pick up one at your local club. You can call MaryAnn at 319 540 4206 for any questions.

We are lucky to have such a fun event for bridge lovers right in the middle of January. Come on out and have some fun!
