Start Playing Bridge in a Day

kingspadesThe modern card game known as Bridge was created 90 years ago, in 1925, by Hotel & Ocean Liner Magnate Harold Vanderbilt. Your grandparents probably played the game in simpler times before TV, computer games, etc. It was a very popular social vehicle & activity.

Bridge is the “chess” of card games. Part of its mystique is that you can never master the game. Bridge is a mental challenge…like a puzzle. It will keep you mentally young. In this world of instant gratification, taking the time to learn the required bidding language is the deterrent to getting started. There are classes, but these can be 8 or 9 weeks long, and who has that kind of time in this busy, fast moving world? This program will teach you the basic concepts IN ONE DAY!!! You can go from ground zero to being able to play the game. Give us one day…and you can begin playing by the afternoon…when you knew nothing when you started in the morning. Join the fun. This is a life skill activity (like golf) or riding a bicycle.

June 20th at the Senior Center in Iowa City. $30 per person or $100 for a group of four. 8am to 5pm with breaks and time to find lunch.
