On Wednesday, June 20, the Longest Day will be celebrated in Cedar Rapids at The Country Inn and Suites, airport exit.
This is the fourth time we have had this fund raiser for Alzheimer’s in Cedar Rapids. We think it is one of the most rewarding and important bridge celebrations, ever. It will be a day-long celebration, from 9 AM to 10:30 PM.
There will be two sanctioned duplicate (point-enhanced, too) games at 12:30 and 6:30. Each game will cost $8, but all of that will go to Alzheimer’s.
There are so many freebies, it is crazy! Free breakfast and bridge all morning. Free lunch with a speaker from Alzheimer’s at 11. Free bridge lesson before the 6:30 game (5:45), Free snacks all day. A raffle for prizes totaling over $100.

I wrote friends and relatives and asked for donations from them and am getting a donation from our bank, Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust. Your kids and grandchildren remember all the times you donated to their causes and might just find it humorous to turn the tables and sponsor grandparents playing bridge all day for a great cause.
Please help support our fund raising. We all know someone affected by this disease. Jim and I plan to wear stickers that say, “We are playing for Mom!” Lots of stickers are available so that you can dedicate yourself to a loved one, too.
