Golden Age Master Awards

by MaryAnn Boardman and Barbara Skogman

We were pleased to award Golden Age Master Awards to our special players at the Cedar Rapids Tournament July 11-13, 2014. These awards are given to loyal ACBL members who play regularly locally but do not travel to many tournaments to earn the multi-colored points required to become a life master. They are given to individuals who are 70+ years and have over 300 master points, 80+ years and have over 100 master points and 90+ years with loyal contribution and master points. These players are the foundation of our local bridge games and we are proud of their contributions. They are: Gretchen Stuhr, Rosemary Elchlepp, Joanne Parker, Char Pence, Ruth Ann Kelleher, Terry Shepard, Kay Lafontaine, Ed Gorman, Belle Lipsky, Pat Kress, and Charlie Kress. Sadly and unknown to us, Sally Sedlak had passed away just hours before the awards were made; however, she had been notified of the award and was happy to learn of it. We are proud of all our Golden Age Masters!
