On September 26th, the Unit 163 Board honored MaryAnn Boardman for her many years of tireless service to our bridge unit. At the surprise celebration, the board presented MaryAnn with a beautiful paperweight and a cake in her honor.
Unit President Carol Panzer spoke about MaryAnn’s many contributions, including:
- She is an extremely knowledgeable and competent club director.
- She has taught numerous classes and seminars, receiving recognition for her teaching on both the unit and district levels.
- She implemented ACBL’s Zero Tolerance Policy on both the club and unit level.
- She developed mentor programs for newer players.
- She served as unit board president, recorder, and IN coordinator.
- She organized and ran many unit sectional and regional tournaments.
- She ran many club and unit charity games.
Carol noted, “Our recognition of MaryAnn today doesn’t do justice to all she has contributed to the world of bridge.”
